Sorry, should have said birth notify.in what way ?
You have to tell them that they have had cross breed calves?Sorry, should have said birth notify.
Pain in the arse to have to spend time on the phone telling them that they have had BB calves!
Yes, with service date, calving ease, sire, tag number. Was 50/50 to tell them to forget it.You have to tell them that they have had cross breed calves?

Possibly, If i knew how to do it. (Or the inclination)Not be quicker on Taurus?
Looks like somebody in the texel lot are at it!not limo related, but relevent non the less :
Texel flock has animals deregistered after allegations - Farmers Weekly
A prize-winning Texel flock has been fined £2,000 and had 66 animals suspended and eight deregistered by the British Texel Sheep Society (BTSS) followingwww.fwi.co.uk
whats it got to do with them ?Yes, with service date, calving ease, sire, tag number. Was 50/50 to tell them to forget it.
All to do with Jaegerbomb, so you can't fiddle the books on calving dates etc. The poor man paying the price for the rich man again!whats it got to do with them ?

Not happen for blues yet, there was talk of more testing but last time we registered some calves a couple months ago it was the same as everAs @AGN76 says. I had to DNA my heifers there and have their parentage verified. I only had 4 to do but I thought even the 4 at nearly £200 was quite expensive for all the tests. And I went onto Taurus to Birth Notify the bull calf born on Sunday but I ended up just registering him. So from now on all females at first calvings have to be tested and even if she drops a cross calve it still has to be birth notified to the society, which doesn't cost anything. You can Birth Notify pedigree calves and register them officially at a later date too. I'm no expert as I'm just playing around just now but surely DNAing both breeding females as well as males should be a standard for any pedigree society and would of avoided that shitshow that happened with Jaegerbomb
Very embarrassing for the society that it was a board member. I wonder if they’d have been so lenient on us plebs?
Could have been worse, they could have done like the Lim Society and just ignored it (or to an extent encouraged it) and wait for an other body to cotton on to it and deal with it.Very embarrassing for the society that it was a board member. I wonder if they’d have been so lenient on us plebs?
Is that particularly lenient? Most of the flock now non-pedigree, a small fine (which I’m not sure how the society could enforce?) and, most punitive, their details openly published. Would you ever trust the pedigree of a sheep from them again?
I don’t see how the Society could have done any more really and it will be interesting to see how many more get found out now more DNA testing is being done. Well done to the Texel Society for not brushing it under the carpet like the BLCS tried to do.?

Perhaps because what has happened in the lim society that is why they have made this public announcement.Could have been worse, they could have done like the Lim Society and just ignored it (or to an extent encouraged it) and wait for an other body to cotton on to it and deal with it.
