Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove the cab from an ih 574 without making too bigger job of it. I’ve got the brake o rings to do and cure some of the tin worm ( mainly the seat base)

Thanks !

You don't need to remove the cab to get the axles off.
If you disconnect enough, fuel pipes at tank, PTO linkage, cab mounts etc it will tilt forward enough to get at the axles.
Just be careful & have a good look around & listen as you lift it.

If you want to take it right off there's not really much more to take off.
Gear shift & hydraulic lever panels, hand brake, PTO linkage, fuel pipes, cab mounts, wire harness, seat & any panels around the seat & gearbox top.
There's a couple of bolts on the footplates at each side, they & the steering column remain in place.
Once again just be extremely careful as you lift the cab & watch for any linkages, cables or bolts still attached.
Much easier with a couple of people watching from each side as another lifts.

After 40+ years some bolts will be difficult to undo
I would recommend using genuine parts
Also when bleeding brakes you could
rig up some sort of temporary fuel tank to make sure brakes are good before refitting cab

How does engine perform?
The glass bowls under fuel filters with drain plugs have been replaced so you don't know how much water is collected
The silencer is incorrect but I don't know if this would affect engine performance

The radiators seem okay had to do a minor repair yesterday as the neck of it has cracked so I’ve re soldered it with the oxy acetylene. I haven’t done a lot with it to be honest she’s only to go on the single rotor rake Infront of the little baler.

I’ve re fitted the original spec exhaust today for some reason the manifold pipe was not long enough to get the exhaust out the bonnet, so tried a fair bit with stillsons to undo it to no avail, so I’ve welded an extension on 2” out of some thick walled pipe to get it clear to have the correct exhaust and flapper cap.

the run stop lever is abit temperamental but the sticker has come off so it’s a listen by ear to get it on the right line.

the back of the seat box has rotted out which has been caused by the rubber mat and foam which is a great pitty, so was aiming to cut it out and weld in a new pan and mount the new suspension seat.

I have just thought of something.....
As you say the back of the seat box is
Corroded which means it is weakened
and this could cause the frame to go out of shape as you lift it off tractor
The cab frame only needs to move slightly out of shape and it will cause problems refitting
Something to think about !!
