IH674 Raise Response Lever

Hi folks,

Trying to operate the arms on the 674 but sometimes the correct lever doesn't seem to have the desired effect unless I move the raise response lever to maximum in the same direction. Also when the arms should be down, pushing raise response up makes them rise. What's gone on the Fritz?

Thanks

Hi
As David Roberts rightly says the raise response lever only comes into effect during draft operations.
It basically controls how quick a plough say would respond if the draft was trying to lift the plough.
It should have no effect what so ever in normal position control.
I suggest you check your linkages under the lever panel whilst someone is moving the levers.
Failing that take the seat out and panel if a Q cab model, take off the small plate on the hydraulic top cover, inside you can see the hydraulic control linkages so move them about to see what's going on.

Thanks, will do that, as it was very annoying to have to fiddle with both, or one to get the desired effect today, never quite sure what was going to happen.

On a 674, the position lever will not release the pick-up hitch if its set right, as in from the factory and is still set as it should be,
When the position lever is at maximum height the hitch lift rods should just take up the slack and nothing more, So to release the hitch you have to pull the draft lever up to maximum, the arms will lift a further inch or so and lift the hitch to release the hooks, once released move draft lever back to bottom and then use position lever for height adjustment of hook or drawbar, to lift and lock hitch, the same again is required, as in the draft lever to get the last bit, this was how they were from new.

The response lever will not do this, however it's possible the draft linkage is fouling on response lever and this is doing it, I cannot see how this is possible, but it's the thing I can see doing it
