iLivestock app

Evening all,
I’m using the iLivestock app for sheep movements and vet records and I find that it’s OK for that purpose. I’m hoping to use it this lambing to link ewes and lamb etc.
It would be interesting to hear from those of you that are successfully using iLivestock for breeding records with your thoughts a experiences. Personally, I’ve had some issues with the app and do wonder whether I will get any useful information out in the end.
Its a bit frustrating that there is very little help online with the app, and the only way to learn to do things is by trial and error. Its a shame that they don't update their website with usefull tips and more detailed guidelines - from the very basic details there at present.
I appreciate that there may be other, better systems out there, but at the minute i do hope that it will improve with time and that I can continue with iLivestock.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, so the lack of replies does not bode well for this app!
I'll rephrase my question in the hope of some answers...
It would be interesting to hear the experiences of those that use ilivestock. Are you encountering issues, are you reporting them and are those issues being resolved?

I downloaded it and started to do some things but then came across stock move express by shearwell. Very good app intuitive and with good support. I subscribe (£30/year) so I can use it for my medicine book also. Deleted ilivestock.

Ive had ilivestock for 3 years and am very disappointed with it. I'm not very computer literate admittedly, so some of the fault is mine, but it makes little sense to me and seems clumsy and awkward to use.. I did ring for help once as it kept crashing and then froze, but what I could really use is an idiots guide to have alongside it. I personally wouldn't recommend it.

I find it alright, but it could be really good with a little more thought.

It is really stupid that you can't go into an animals record and press the tag number of the dam / sire / sibling to view their record.
When you add in the tag number of a lamb, you then go into the lambs record to add their information, it then kicks you back to the main screen meaning you have to go back to the ewes record to add data to the rest of the litter.

I think the big issue is that it is written by someone who doesn't use it.

I have used Shearwell's app for just over a year can drive it no bother now lots of good features, you can use it from any pc or your phone when out in the field. £30.00 a year well spent imo, saving for the Bluetooth tag reader so it pairs with my phone for logging data easily.

I use Farmworks with the stock recorder from Shearwell. Definately not a cheap option but is an excellent management tool/record keeper/reporting system. Try to think about loosing a chunk of your BPS if your records aren't correct, and say to yourself I can offset that against the cost of the system so really it' not so expensive!! Still expensive but might make you feel better ;)

What they really need to do is get the iPhone version of Farmworks Mobile released and that would be the icing on the cake
