Illegal rave in Bedfordshire? Anyone on here?

Those of you who advocate taking self help steps against this type of event have clearly never been near one or experienced just what sort of people attend.
I have and my advice is to secure your buildings and particularly access to vulnerable sites. Once they are in there is nothing you or the Police can do about it unless the Police can find sufficient numbers. In one case I had experience of it kicked off in the early hours of the morning and there was only four Police Officers on duty between the outskirts of Bath and Yeovil. The Local EHO to his credit went in on his own to see what was going on and then got a warrant from a magistrate and then went in with the Police when they had numbers at about 7 in the morning. By then it was light and the Police had enough bodies to arrest the organisers and seize all of the kit. The organisers were successfully prosecuted for running an unlicensed event and their kit was forfeited.
No more raves in the area for a number of years because they knew they would be dealt with.

This is reassuring to hear, I wonder if there have been any arrests in this case?:cautious: And yes I have witnessed a couple of these illegal raves, they tend to be full of idiots drugged up to the eyeballs. But the Police have a duty, irrespective of what the situation is and if they cant/wont deal with it then there is a serious problem somewhere. Now i'm not saying they should send in a couple of police officers in to arrest 200 people, but you would like to think they would have a QRF (Quick Reaction Force, like the army would) to call on if they are needed.

In a former life I played at a free rave in some woods. Small affair run by some local crusties/new age hippies.

Locked my keys in the boot with my record bag and had to get the only sober bloke in the place to run me back to my parents for the spares. Sun was coming up by this point.

There are some back up resources available, all concentrated in the urban areas and certainly not enough in the middle of the night to deal with large numbers of arrests.
Remember, for each arrest you need a policeman so unless the Cops have as many in their gang as the opposition have it ain't going to happen. You can have as many police hanging about just in case as you are prepared to pay for but that means tax going up to pay for it and I don't see much enthusiasm for tax increases.

No I don't think there would any enthusiasm for tax increases, we pay enough already. Perhaps a tax decrease for people living in rural areas if they don't intend on looking after us like the major Towns and Cities???

None of you have mentioned Lord Howland's tactic for dealing with these events. In the 90s he worked along side "The Exodus Collective" to agree and manage a suitable peice of our green and pleasent land for them to use responsably, with an agreement that no other attempts were made to use any of Andrew's other land. I understand that in the dead of night, these people come across as not the kind of folk you would want to organise shutting a gate with, but given the oppertunity and access to the site, to set up AND CLEAN UP, you could well find that these are just kids trying to enjoy the countryside in their own crazy way.

I have a solution to overpowering crowd intimidation. Cops come in with a water cannon full of ultraviolet dye and simply soak the barstewards and then drive around for the next few nights with a 'blue light' and either arrest or beat the sh*t out of any glowing members of the community. Simples. They could even Smart Water each cannon load so they could be tied to a distinct event.

Trouble is if you loose your rag and start smashing cars, who is going to get arrested? Its just a case of being outnumbered you, half a dozen police and two hundred plus party goers turning up, who are they going to nick if you get out of line? Sad but true!

To get the high up shots they climbed up on top of the dryer and bulk bins, shame none of them fell.

All cleared up now, shed stinks of pee and there is the wheat to clean but other than that all done, found quite a few wallets, bit of cash, mobile phones, carrier bag of weed, think its 31 empty nitros oxide cylinders(big oxy sized ones!) and I think they must all wipe their arses on socks as we seem to have odd socks all over the place along with the appropriate landmine!
could be 100 against 1 in a situation like that !

the police stop you going any where near, they say they are there just make sure nothing gets out of hand, what chance do half a dosen plod stand against a few thousand idiots off there heads would think every one at a rave could be charged with some thing, just nead a helicopter and some acid would do them the world of good and save us all money
I would chuck that grain away could have tablets in it !

To be fair they were there before us, otherwise a car or two may have been removed by teleporter! The plolice has an idea something was going to happen in the area as a huge number of cars were in the local villages etc trouble is they just didn't know where it was going to happen until it was too late, it all kicked off in Bedford town centre that evening so a lot of the police were there dealing with that.
I think that stupid this England programme may have encouraged this a bit,,, copycat like

If it had been mine . Any stuck cars would not be returned until the 20 ton digger had been over them twice
That's OK until one of them had a sleeping drunk in the back seat. Then you are going down for a serious stretch. End of your life.
