Importing tractor from Eu. ?

Brought a couple high value machines from Holland over the last few years, have found the Dutch to be great to deal with. Was some good savings when the £ was high against the euro, around 25% + at one, time which was a lot given the value of the machines. All deals I did included shipping to Hull on the ferry, we just picked up our end from the dock with a collection number. Its easier for them to sort haulage in their country as their height limit on bridges is less than the UK, and they use lower low loaders than we would use for large plant.

If you go over and view, take a couple of days to drive around the country, I found it an amazingly beautiful place. And of course you will have to spend at least one night in Amsterdam :)

The drop in the £ against the euro does not make shopping on the continent for plant as attractive now, unfortunately.

Re the transport get the dealer to drop it at the docks , in Amsterdam or zeebrugge to put it on roro ferry to either Newcastle or Hull and then arrange it collected this side and delivered to you easy enough to arrange just ring the ferry company and book it in and pay on a credit or debit card you are allowed a few days once landed to get it collected.
as said above get the original reg docs , to get it registered here, to do that apply for a v55 pack from DVLA on line then fill in and send off with the first reg fee and your insurance details.
You will as mentioned already need to declare its import via an online system called NOVA , this just ensures that VAT if applicable is paid , assuming you are VAT registered you should not be charged VAT by the dutch dealer if you supply your vat details to them and again on Nova this should just be a form filling process.
All pretty simple really
