first bale of the year fed out yesterday, feeding them on a patch where we cleared some scrubby withy a couple years back, need to get the stumps dug out and a bit of seed chucked about next year. We do have some more grass but its right next to a group of heifers that mr Loveabull may fancy.

We started lambing this time last year, in the snow, no less.
Have had 2 light dustings of snow and 2 frosts in a row, what's the northern hemisphere equinox been like?
We can usually count on a glorious September- mild and sunny . It feels cooler and wetter this year. Grass is growing like mad . Its been a difficult hay year although there was plenty of it- the summer was hotter for much longer than usual, and the dews heavy.

Nice! Thanks

It's been really mixed-up for most of September, starting to see a bit of growth now - but still chilly at night

Dry here, starting to think we're in a local rain shadow. I could probably count the no. of rainfall mls we've had in the last 10 weeks on my fingers. Just had 7ml last night finally and more on the way! Hopefully then I won't be able to put my whole hand in some of the cracks.

29th is a wind day, the direction of wind tomorrow indicates the predominant direction for the next few months.

Spent a fair time listening to a mkt fieldsman, telling me the weather always changes on st martins day, and cattle start growing their winter coat, well, he was right on the first bit, and our cows looked well, still in their summer coats, when they went through the ring, got asked today, did we have another 20 ########no !
