Our scraper tractor, seems to get slow punctures quite a bit and it’s getting annoying now. We do have a tight yard and the tyres get caught very lightly some times, there is the odd surface cut. The cut is no deeper than 5mm on the side walls. The rims are a couple years old and are like new, the tubes and bkt tyres are about 5 years old. Whenever I do a puncture repair I can never find the cause, I just patch it, it often just looks thin on the bit that’s got the small hole and it’s fine for 6 months. Are newish tubes really poor quality these days? I know the older ones are a lot thicker. Are there good brands of tubes, or are these outer cuts causing the problems, unfortunately the tractor is driven by multiple people so pinning down if someone’s hit an rsj is not easy. Thanks in advance.
