Inner Wheel-Arch Preservation

Hi All,

Have recently upgraded our tractor and I would like to preserve the inner rear wheel arches as, experience in the past shows corrosion can become a problem, in particular near the bottom at the junction with the bottom of the cab at door opening.

There is minimal rust on the wheel arches at present, nothing that isn't just age related. Can you advise me on best product to use, and best method of prep work etc?

Someone suggested Hammerite Black Matt?

All ideas welcome. Thanks in advance.

Ive always like propper waxoyle , made by hammeright , finnigans i tink , many products there .
There a black undersill gue with waxoyl added. I use that thined with oil for plough bright bits .
I like it , copy waxoil is no good .
Only one i dont like is a aerosol black , might b stone guard ? Doesn't adhere too well or maybe needs better prep?

Anything but Hammerite or Waxoyl.
You need to get all the rust off back to shiny metal, don't miss any, then a good quality primer and topcoat (maybe an epoxy) then either a stone chip type coat or bedliner type.

Kevm wouldn't be far away with the bed liner, if the area is prepped correctly and the latter is used it will take a damn good hold and be pretty resilient to a hell of a lot of conditions.

my jury's out on the likes of stone chip, its used extensively on car wheel arches but meh, i don't know, in time it will fail imo.

i use a product here times called ankor wax but its more of a anti corrosion than anything else which has a decent lifetime but its not what your really after i don't think, link below so you can read up on it but its more of a 12-24 mth coating than anything.
