Rather stick pins in my eyesSounds like you'd be better off sending some deadweight.

Iv nothing against them grading them to sell them how they see fit I think it’s a better way of doing it … aslong as the lads grading them actually want too be there and do the job rightNo wonder more and more seem to be coming north!
Some auction yards seem to run a system of reserved pens for their favourite vendors.Rather stick pins in my eyes
No it’s called providing what the market wantsThat ridiculous.
This probably makes me sound like a clever dick, but I’d be wary of taking a mixed batch of lambs anywhere without sorting them myself or at least putting a mark on the lean ones to sell as stores.
most of the shareholders won't use the placeIt takes the pee, half the unloading bays they won’t let you use, then there’s pens inside for thousands of lambs all sat empty and then every f**ker sat outside with trailers full of lambs .. I really like Tom and his no bulls**t approach but the system they have in place for sorting lambs just does not work and until they change it too a system that can handle the volume of sheep they’re dealing with I won’t be going back
They got room Indoors to just put all the lambs into holding pens and put the licence on the gate of each pen and have two teams one weighing and one unloading /sending them round to weight like Melton doesThey need to use all 20 unloading bays. I end up unloading miles from weigh bridge in the three bays that don’t have lorries parked on
Exactly drives you f**king mad sat there too unload looking at pen space for thousands of lambs just sat empty and then the carnage it causes if youv got a few cull ewes mixed in too really just ain’t worth going for… apart from the 1 bad day though every time Iv went Iv always done £5-10 a head more than I expectedThey got room Indoors to just put all the lambs into holding pens and put the licence on the gate of each pen and have two teams one weighing and one unloading /sending them round to weight like Melton does
All because of the bloke you said you really likeExactly drives you f**king mad sat there too unload looking at pen space for thousands of lambs just sat empty and then the carnage it causes if youv got a few cull ewes mixed in too really just ain’t worth going for… apart from the 1 bad day though every time Iv went Iv always done £5-10 a head more than I expected
Wasn’t a problem when I used too get there at 3-4am but I’m slowing down in my old age now none this weighing lambs at midnight and taking them straight too market anymoreAll because of the bloke you said you really like
So he can get the SQQ up, its all fakeThey need to sort the lambs further from the weighbridge so it keeps moving, if you ever watch it's standing empty half the time. A cynic told me it's because they want lambs empty when weighed.
the only figures that tell a story, in the auctioneers report, are the ones that give a min price, max price and the average price, for each class, or breed of stock, not to many marts do that, mores the pity.So he can get the SQQ up, its all fake
That's what I did when I used to go there , first at the gate at 5am before they even opened fuk that now ...Wasn’t a problem when I used too get there at 3-4am but I’m slowing down in my old age now none this weighing lambs at midnight and taking them straight too market anymore
I took a trailer full of short keep stores a couple of years back that included 8 or 10 long keeps to get them gone. They got room Indoors to just put all the lambs into holding pens and put the licence on the gate of each pen and have two teams one weighing and one unloading /sending them round to weight like Melton does
I soon realised if you went too the far gate it wasn’t locked and could empty lambs out at any timeThat's what I did when I used to go there , first at the gate at 5am before they even opened fuk that now ...
Is the new market getting built yet?

Maybe because there’s more competition. Use it or lose itI soon realised if you went too the far gate it wasn’t locked and could empty lambs out at any time
