Is that what you can earn or is that what you have to pay over base rate
That's what you would have to pay in addition to the bank margin, so in effect it is the 30 year 'base rate'

If you were fixing a new long term loan now margin rates are likely to be around 3-4%, so I would imagine with 30 year fix it will be well over 4%.

@midlandslad will know

It's over and they know it. Property prices are in a massive bubble world wide, inflated beyond control by free money. Inflation going rampant and they can't even raise rates by 0.15%, that tells you everything you need to know. The economy is built on nothing and the only way is down

Quite something when a paltry rise of 0.15% is deemed too scary

Very scarey indeed..... the government is scared shittless that the average Joe can't a afford morgage hike!

To me November would have been a better (and softer) choice for a rise than December. Get it done and out the way before December arrives and then everyone starts to think about Christmas becasue a) December is one of the most expensive months of the year b) Everyone starting to think about Christmas will mean the Nov rate rise quickly becomes old news.

If they do decide to put a rate rise in either Dec or Jan, people will already be feeling poor and it'll hit their pockets even harder all at the same time.

Just listen to it when your at work... or loading the dishwasher
I don't have that many dishes.

I just sincerely doubt it takes 55 mins to explain the concept of can kicking by central banks, govts and the financial system. Maybe if you could provide a snippet of something insightful from it it might be worth sitting through?
