the woman had a key but was too lazy to use it, ,, claimed she lost it, never asked for another which i had available.

There can be circumstances where this can work well, just not suitable for this application, although that may change.Change the padlock to one with a pin number then she cannot say she has lost the key.
oouchSome motor bike locks have the lock as part of the chain. Just need to weld the chain to the post then it cant be removed. Well not unless you carry an angle grinder with you.
