Hi there everyone, first post here hoping someone can help.
I’ve just bought an international 475 all works apart from the arms seem to be stuck. I serviced it today and hoped a new back end filter and oil might help but to no avail.
Anyone help please?? Rob the log

Indeed, where are the arms stuck ? I'm guessing they are stuck at the top ? That's the usual issue.
If they are stuck right down & simply not moving up that's another problem.

If however as I suspect the arms are stuck up & won't go down I'm afraid the problem can be the main draft control valve spool stuck or sieze.
But there are other causes, external or internal linkages having dropped off.

I take it you've tried both the position lever & draft lever pulled up ?
You would need the pisiposi lever up as you pulled back on the tipping pipe.

Does the power steering work ok ?

Can you hear the relief valve blowing when you pull up the tipping pipe ( auxiliary valve ) lever ?

If the steering & tipping pipe are ok have a look at first under the rhs at the arm raise lever linkages.
If there is nothing obviously hanging off you'll need to take the seat out & the panel under it.
You should can see a small plate on the hydraulic top cover with 4 bolts holding it on, these bolts are 7/16 AF spanner size.
Take off this plate & have a look inside for any linkage hanging loose.

Power steering works ok yea.
Tip pipe lever changes tune whe you put lever pumping
Draft lever is stiff when you get above halfway but does go to the top with the linkage lever up.

Ok...you need to get a look inside as I described before, see if you can spot anything hanging off, loose or broken.

I have had similar issues with internationals in the past, first make sure the lever for the tipper pipe is in the middle position, if still no joy remove the seat and there should be an inspection cover, like this:

There’s not a lot of acces but you can move the valves with a screw driver and see if you can get the arms to lift.

When I had trouble, at the top of the picture you can just see a long spring, there is a rod through the centre that had jumped off. To make the repair the top plate had to be removed but this is quite an easy job.
