Doesn’t sit right with me that we are farming everything out to foreign investment. Lowest cooperation tax in G7 (a lot higher than it was) but probably highest of every other punitive tax that can be dreamt up.

While the investment is good would it not be better to put the investment into manufacturing capacity instead of capacity to import more stuff due to dropping levels of making stuff

Now watch them spend 5 years debating the new extensive regulations that they’ll need to get rid of the old simpler regulations.

Governments always promise they’ll “slash red tape”, but always end up making the situation far worse. It’s almost like they have a fetish for being tied up and choked with it.

Ever since I’ve been old enough to pick up and read the farmers weekly, I’ve seen politicians make promises to reduce red tape.
In all that time I have only ever seen it increase.
Borris wasn’t the first nor will he be the last to tell porky pies.
Can’t remember when I first heard the joke, How do you tell when a politician is lying…….their lips are moving , but it was certainly before I left school, I presume it has ever been thus
