Any ideas how to get into an Iphone 6 that wont accept finger print or show a keyboard to enter the pass code?

So far sorted but I have what looks like a a pad lock in a cicle with an arrow on it next to the battery level indicator any ideas?

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the “control centre”.

Click the button that looks like the icon.

That’s the screen rotation lock so if you turn your phone landscape it won’t turn the image round.

Assuming siri is enabled - you can ask her to see the ipad unlock.

Thanks @Steevo as you say the pad lock mentioned above, indicates the attitude of the screen is locked.
