Have to sail from Ireland instead possibly???There are thousands of Irish Lorries which travel through the UK en-route to the EU.
If there are long queues to catch the ferries and to access the tunnel, will UK and Irish Lorries just jostle for position, and will there be enough British Police to keep the peace?
I think that is why the idea of the new lorry parks is for, to keep order. There are thousands of Irish Lorries which travel through the UK en-route to the EU.

There is Dublin / Cherbourg which runs year round. Can someone explain, why isn't there a direct ferry route to begin with? Seems madness bringing trucks across the breadth of the UK to get to Europe?
Are they upgrading the road North?Cork City was putting in a massive new facility to handle the anticipated huge increase of trucks...
It's full motorways from Cork to Dundalk for at least 8 yrs nowAre they upgrading the road North?

Only the Irish could have the “Lane and a half” as an actual Highway CodeRoI road network is not bad these days at all. Very respectful drivers I have found too, other than around Dublin.....
An 18hr break? That's like a full years holiday for an Irish lorry driver!18 hour ferry where drivers can have a break and avoid paperwork entering and leaving a non EU country makes sense if goods are EU bound anyway.

Wider roads than we get in this country so if both cars go to the sides there’s plenty of space for a third to overtake in the middleAhhh well, t'is loike this... That there fella from Shropshire who rides a motobike, and he can use that half lane like.... It allows him to charge across the roads to Galway, in a flash...
But in reality, WTH is a "lane and half"?
18 hours one way 20 the other. Is that for tides? An 18hr break? That's like a full years holiday for an Irish lorry driver!
