Is Corbyn holding back Labour

The tories are in the same position as they were from 92' to 97, any credible opposition would be tearing them apart, yet we hardly see anything of Mr Corbyn, his brand of populism other than spend spend spend has nothing to say about complex issues, they're sitting back on the brexit debate when they could be owning it,

Westminster voting intention: LAB: 40% (-4) CON: 38% (-2) LDEM: 9% (-) UKIP: 4% (+2) Gen: 3% (+2) via @IpsosMORI, Oct 27 - Nov 01

The latest WM polling abovw with Labour drpping big time, i reckon Milliband would be miles ahead in the polls by now , i think we've hit peak Corbyn now

But that’s a perfectly good position for JC, considering that peak trough for the Tories is pretty much guaranteed to be breached almost daily.

TBH I don’t think he is power at all costs type of leader. Which probably means you’re right, he is holding labour “back”. However it was nauseating to be reminded of Bliar as opposition leader questioning executive pay. How many £zillion has he picked up from the Qataris et al since then? For people like me New Labour (Tory lite) cannot be forgiven ever!!!

It does look like the Tories have made some sort of commitment to seeing this govt. out and putting some things aside.

They know what the cost will be if we go to election now. They know that Brexit can only be delivered by a Tory govt. So the radicals will shut up and there are plenty of new MPs of all colours who might wish to see out a full term in order to secure their pension.

It also makes no sense for anyone else to take on Brexit. Let TM sacrifice herself over it and get on with the next generation. Boris missed the boat probably. Oh well.

With all this sexual harrasment stuff coming out now it's going to be a while until it all settles down. For Labour too.

JC must see that his chance has now gone. He'll have to hand over to another before the next GE or he'll just be Michael Foot all over again. A week is a long time in politics. 5 years is a bit longer.

...With all this sexual harrasment stuff coming out now...

About time too in my opinion, not least because, in a few years, it could be my daughter being groped or worse by somebody in a position of 'power' over her. Don't misunderstand me, when I have had women make advances toward me I have been happy to respond in kind when I have liked it and don't see anything wrong with that at all; if I wasn't interested I'd politely decline, because I could.

However, the amount of stuff that we will soon hear about in the political field that is neither a response nor a reasonable approach is going to be very great indeed. It will reveal a particularly unpleasant aspect of the 'great and good' and, overwhelmingly, it will be about older men.

Name and shame, see them in Court as appropriate, set stringent rules with penalties to deter; we'll never see the back of this entirely, but I am certain that it can be very greatly reduced. Of course the corollary to that is the treatment of demonstrably false accusations equally harshly unless there should be anonymity for an accused until guilt is proven, as there should be for those accused but not convicted of other sexual offences too - we once had this for rape, but it was later scrapped.

exactly, i cant imagine him sticking around

i find it bizarre a man of his age, being the voice of the young aswell
He is an unscrupulous opportunist and a lying git to boot. The young should not trust him but unfortunately they are not sufficiently aware to see through his guile.

I don’t agree with the above. Whether you agree with his policies or not he is taking Labour in a clear direction which he has never hidden. Most Labour members aren’t that “young” at all, mind they are relatively younger than the Tory membership, which appears to be older than the average bowls club.

Yes, but... firstly, he and Comrade John would utterly ruin the country and, secondly, it does grate when privately educated, millionaire and career politician Jeremy Corbyn claims to be anti-establishment.

In fact he isn't, he is 'anti' the current establishment yet, as we have seen with his knowing promotion of the revolting Hopkins, quite happy to put aside morals to see his own people create a new establishment.

Well he certainly owes Ms Etemadzadeh an explanation, after that an apology. He won’t take responsibility for Hopkins revolting nature. If politicians did that they would all resign tomorrow. I don’t believe Mrs May was completely unaware of Fallon’s nature for one moment and he became defence secretary.

You do have an example of a country run successfully by the non establishment :scratchhead:

To be fair to Danllan, no can comprehend the extent of current government’s incompetence. Corbyn just has to say nothing and they’ll gift wrap it for him.
