I am a member of a What’s App group that receive messages from police officer Ashley Weller, instigator of the Rural Crime watch group in our area (Cotswolds).
It is an excellent idea where group members can notify the group
immediately of suspicious vehicles and people lurking about.
Just wondered if many other areas of Rural Crime Watch.
Really concerning how many criminals are out there with nothing better to do than thieving.

We had Farm Watcher, £10 per year subscription,, it was run by a big local farm,, sadly it went down hill due to lack of response from the police.
Most of the time, they couldn't be bothered to turn out an we never see the police about

Yes but "add hock" monitoring .
Ring rounds only any good 9-4 pm if monitored.
Farmers contact each other anyhow on own ring rounds.
So if any crims looking in , We Watch Everthing These days .

The other day we were notified of a guy walking around a local estate with a sword !!!!
Fortunately had a message a bit later on to say police had apprehended the person.

We have Farm Watch here which is police led. Get text messages if something or some vechicle is dodgy and also get message saying like, quad stolen at "time" and "location" . Can text them also to report stuff.
Stuff is still getting nicked but notice a lot of the farm watch signs are appearing at farms now and the one time I reported a transit and two blokes acting dodgy , I got a reply later thanking me and saying they had been spoken too .

Yes I’m on two separate farmers/keepers whatssApp groups with Hants police. We also have the local policemen’s mobile numbers to save going through 999 if it’s not an emergency.

Police are relatively good round here I must admit.

Round there parts there is a facebook group for alerting to recent activity, screenshots of CCTV forage etc and a WhatsApp group that is reserved for either "HELP, drop everything and get here now!!"

The whatsapp HELP group locally had a mini success recently. Group members responding in the early hours were able to disrupt the movements of 2 stolen quad bikes being driven across the county without directly confronting the offenders. It resulted in one bike being abandoned by its rider who had to flee though the mud on foot, the bike was later recovered by the police.
