Fairly sure it is indirect injection and quite slow starting and relatively thirsty. Heavy gear-lever to use and also steering. I've only seen one, which I bought back in part exchange for something. Someone must have liked it, because I don't recall it sitting around for long.

No its a direct injection engine built in Nuess, the same as a 454 or perhaps with a smaller cubic capacity.
I had a 733 for a shortwhile which is a 4 cylinder variant with the same engine as a 584. It had a lovely smooth 8 speed synchro box, mine had power so i cant comment on the steering.
Lovely little things apart from the crap brakes.
