Is this the end of Rural policing in Scotland?

It has been reported that Police Scotland will no longer investigate all crimes.
Apparently you will need a witness or CCTV for an investigation to proceed.
Whilst not suffering a crime wave ourselves, we get the usual flytipping, poachers and have had dog worrying, it would seem there is no meaningful investigation then there equally will be no deterrent.
Will petty theiving and diesel pinching increase as a consequence?

Is this pattern of policing becoming more prevalent in the wider UK?

Cops couldn't catch a cold hereabouts, might turn up if summat gets nicked, but more than likely they're not bothered, I can't blame them in a way, they never get enough evidence for conviction so whats the point. It's worse than that here on the border as the two different forces don't talk to each other.

Hmmm, a reduction in services in Scotland under the SNP Coalition Government - what a surprise.

They have basically stated they are continuing to do what they have been doing for the last 10 years.
Presumably they are too busy dealing with Humza's drug dealing family members or mental health issues or racial hate crime in urban nurseries.

Scotland needs rid of this Government as soon as possible along with their ineffective moneyspunking twaddle.
Country is on its knees because of them.

Though I'd suggest that the rural criminals should be purchasing Go-Pro's for their own safety now also ;)

Same applies in Hartcliffe Bristol, this lunchtime. Six young males, two on e scooters and mostly masked ran into the Lidl car park and started breaking up the display of compost bags having earlier thrown milk bottles at staff. According to the manager they were looking to provoke him and his staff into a fight..
In the good old days they would have been caught, thrown into the back of a Black Maria where they would have been given a summary kicking by several large members of the constabulary and this would have been their punishment. They no longer have any fear of any authority or the consequences of their actions and are feral. Unfortunately there is no cull option for this dross.

When it takes them a week to identify that someone has died by gunshot and not natural causes you realise something is seriously wrong.
