The straw season was drawn out with the weather,

At one point I was without a loader so I decided to use the spare spikes to mover 4 at a time which saved me a lot of time in the field

It's very rare that I would 'big myself up' but when a team of 12+ men from cadent were needing to do major gas line work in one of the fields needed assistance in moving equipment to the location I was there to help, not only did I assist in moving their equipment but when their compressor and generator failed to work I went out of my way to get them a compressor and a generator at extremely short notice with benefit to the individual hiring the equipment out but ensuring that Cadent didn't have a team of men stood around unable to get the job done. They were able to get the job completed on time and I received many thanks from the lads and the supervisor which quite frankly meant a lot.

My Hilux is one of the best assets I have purchased, without that a multi million pound business would have been severely delayed in getting a major job done,

Great idea for lifting the front off the combine
They have the mounts on from the factory - its easier to get it back on the combine with either a hydraulic top link or switch the tractor front suspension off.

Great pics Jordan - spannering and loading for the Spud King of Cheshire?

A few months ago I got hold of a trailer/generator chassis and for a while I wasn't sure what to do with it.
To start with a put a portable fuel cube on it but then I came up with the idea of a utility trailer, basically a way to double the capacity of the pickup with lockable storage and heavy duty axles for taking dense quantities of weight
A little extra paining required and fitting of shelving and a compressor in the box but its not far away

So ... spring never really came, we seemed to have skipped spring and found ourselves in summer or spring just a few weeks late, yet to decide on that one,

But with just a small amount left to plant potato planting started over 9 weeks ago is very close to an end.

A challenging season to say the least but with a great team and business and a lot of effort and patience.

But another season on the loader, many boxes of seed handled, bags of fert thrown around, hands covered in grease, oil and many other things helping keep the team moving.
Ive had a range of tractors this season to move the lowloader around, Fendt 724, Massey 7499, John Deere 6930 & 6195R, Valtra T174

During one of the 2 week wet spells this spring I was given the opportunity to show off my welding skills to a farm I do a lot of work for by modifying their grain bin that feeds the dryer,
the first modification was to the top of the bin to support a new sheet that stopped it from sagging and allowed the water to roll off, the second phase was to the main body of the grain bin to put a layer of mesh in to catch any foreign objects and break up any lumps of grain before finding their way to the auger
