Well I’m a rather more concerned about how trade deals pan out than what I can scrounge off the government.

Australia, and the US, and Argentina, will send as much beef to the UK, produced to our standards, as they choose to. Anyone who thinks that the whole 'produced to our standards' malarkey is in any way going to benefit their business is delusional.

Don't you mean to their standards? As the US has certainly stated any trade deal is depended on the UK dropping current EU standards.

That's just bargaining. The US, Australia, wherever, can produce beef to our standards, cheaper than we can, should they decide it is worth their while. Hence this 'produced to our standards' stance being all rather pointless.
