hi guys
Feel very stupid asking this but I bought a jcb 1135 back part of last year the brakes are now pritty much non existent the rear brakes I don't think are doing anything you press the peddle and a couple of seconds maby just 2 then the brakes come on but only just I think front brakes only that are doing anything guess the brakes are air over hydronic could it be it needs the oil topping up this leads me to the question where the hell dose an 1135 get the oil for the brakes I can't find a oil reservoir any wear I have noticed one of the back suspension height adjusters things seems to have failed as its sat down on one side and the hight adjuster had a lot of oil round it the seals have gone wondered if the brakes run through the same system I guess not but just checking

Also 4ws not working any body know where I could start trying to source the folt with that ?

Only do bits and bats with it so don't really want to take it to jcb as they will cost a fortune
Cheers Ryan

I should have some info on these early brake circuit somewhere , I will look it out and post the info , but yes the early ones are from the hydraulic oil.

what exactly is wrong with the 4ws? any lights on the 4ws panel? have you checked the fuses etc or does it not unlock/change modes, on the later ones not sure on a early one , if you take out the 4ws panel there is a little red light that will flash a error blink code,

I had a 96 P reg 1135, that had the air handbrake. On that one their was two reservoirs in the battery compartment for the brakes, they used brake fluid from memory. Another thing worth checking is the condition of your brake pads and also the pins that hold them in place. I had bother at one stage with poor brakes and it was down to the pins that hold the pads in place not allowing the pads to slide so under braking the caliper pistons were just bending the pads towards the discs. Took the pads out and gave everything a good clean and put them back in with new pins and all sorted.
With your 4ws it would be worth checking the wiring that goes into the sensor on the top kingpin of the front axle. Mine use to break the wire were it bends. Also there is a connection zip tied to one of the front axle suspension tie rods, worth checking that is ok.
