I have to strip the bucket ram on an 814 to replace the gland seals. Any tips for making the job as easy as possible. thanks.

I have no tips for you but if you have trouble getting the rams open take it to someone with one of these, I can't get a video of one working though

One of my mates works for a plant firm and they tried all sorts to get Cat swing shovel rams apart. They ended up gas cutting/angle grinding a spanner out of 1" plate then clamping the ram with a pin through the non seal end under a 180 jack leg. The "spanner" is then operated by pressing down with the back actor. Local dealer now brings their awkward rams to them!

Undo the gland while it’s on the machine. Did ours using a large pair of stilsons!
