JCB JZ70 start issue

Jz70 was working fine then just stopped suddenly.
When you try to start it it will fire straight up then stop immediately,
The stop lever solenoid moves to run position when it fires then goes straight back to stop position.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Electrical then? Can you disconnect the linkage and run it manually to eliminate everything bar electric issue. Remember something similar on some Yanmar engines and it was dirty connections in electrical plugs, not enough current was getting through to hold the solenoid on

Is there 3 wires to the solenoid if so one wire pulls it in (sounds like it's working)
Second coil is powered off ignition and it holds the solenoid in after I first wire pulls it in during cranking
The 1st coil cannot be held on as it will burn out
Make sure the rod is travelling the full distance or the second one will not hold it

nearly needed one, had 4 load of concrete coming and the thing wouldn’t run

Thanks everyone it was the solenoid so i bypassed it until the new one arrived today
