JCB Livelink

Our JCB telehandler is fitted with their livelink system for tracking in the event of theft. Last night it woke me up at 4am with a text and email saying it had left the farm. I rushed outside to find the gates and shed doors still locked and the JCB still where I left it. When I re-read the message it turned out it was alerting me to it having left the farm at lunchtime the day before when we took it out to some fields plagued by hare coursers to dig a few trenches.

Anyone know why there was such a delay in getting the message? Can’t find a phone number to speak to anyone at JCB with specific regard to the livelink system. Normally it is very good and pretty much instantly alerts you when the machine leaves the yard.

All good answers but sadly all missing the point

Could be a phone problem rather than jcb problem, both mine and another lad at work had issues yesterday, we're both on different networks as well. Thought it strange I'd went all day with very few messages or notifications, about half 5 last night it went daft and I got 41 notifications in 2-3 minutes, it seemed to behave last night but playing up again today.

Agree it, don’t boff her sister....
Do you get messages via internet as in I messages or via network? It has been known for mine to come through 12 hours late as I have no phone signal at home...

Yep probably network issues.

Text/SMS is a so called “store and forward” scheme. If the network can’t route the messages it holds the message and keeps trying until it can. There can be delays if there are network problems or maintenance.

There could also be maintenance or other issues you’re not aware of within the JCB system other than the mobile network(s).
