The rear pivot pin bosses will be broken or cracked on it , very big job to sort is a common problem on all 7 meter machines .I know this is common with these when boom is pushed right out but why do they do it and is there an easy fix

Yes when it gets nearly right out, waxoyl makes no differenceSorry @onthehoof , I thought you meant it was squealing whilst being extended/retracted.

Yes last 2 metres or so, wear pads look okSo it is squealing when you are moving the boom in and out, rather than lifting?
Are the wear pads in good condition?
On 530/70 had 2 525/67 and they both did the sameSo it is squealing when you are moving the boom in and out, rather than lifting?

big job to take the boom off, , then it is to cut the bosses out , make new ones fit new pin & weld up , should not be to do a machine as new as our one was .What can they possibly do to justify a 3-6k bill to fix a broken pin?

Is that definitely the problem, is it easy to see if they are cracked/ brokenbig job to take the boom off, , then it is to cut the bosses out , make new ones fit new pin & weld up , should not be to do a machine as new as our one was .

our one was make a noise , could not see any thing wrong until I was greasing the pivot pin at the back of the boom & the grease was coming out of the part that is when we seen the hair line crack in the boom boss, they are not welded righ round and crack away from the boom & break up, pee poor they were not like that on the older machinesIt sounds like your talking about an entirely different issue to @Speedstar ?
If it’s squealing when you boom out or in, and you are not lifting or lowering, then I can’t see what it has to do with the main pivot pin?
