JD 40/50 series rev counter

Is there a way of testing this rev counter sender? No life what so ever on dash needle, cable continuity is ok to dash. TIA

Have you soldered the back of the dash units where the loom plugs to them

They usually need doing

Looks visibly ok, but wanted to test sender first really

They do look ok just need a dab with hot iron to redo the joint

As @davidroberts30 says, have had to do several over the years, never had a faulty sender yet.

Changed sender on my 3050 4/5 months ago, would work sometimes once it got warm but just got fed up with it not working all the time.
Can’t get that sender in pic anymore has been updated to a 2 piece type and you need some wiring plus nuts/washers !.
