Has been suggested, but doesn’t seem to be the caseI'd put a fiver on viscous fan unit failing local lad done quite a few 6r's round here when he came to do mine on 7830 last year.
But that’s the thing we are intending putting a reversible fan on it so the viscous coupling will be done away with, tractor doesn’t get hot and it feels the same and sounds the same. I’m not convinced it’s the viscous coupling tractor hasn’t got a speed sensor between the viscous coupling and the fan, either like the newer ones haveI’ve got a viscous unit here that was removed from a 155 as suspended faulty but the new one never fixed the problem. Could post to you
Now Then..this code keeps coming up main dealer Can’t tell me what it means ,beenon Facebook All kinds of suggestions still no wiser main dealer just had no idea I thought that’s what fault codes were all about.
Yes an electric one seems to be working fineNow Then..
Does this tractor have the fan under the charge air cooler??
I always thought they were hydraulically driven and controlled by a solenoid valve. However, after half an hour with the Tech manual and JDParts, it could be electrical.Yes an electric one seems to be working fine
Looked at my mates 6150 and yes it’s hydraulically driven or even from the water pump ,and his new 6155 the horizontal charge cooler has disappeared altogether and is somewhere else .Thank youI always thought they were hydraulically driven and controlled by a solenoid valve. So, your problem is, that the ECU isn't seeing a speed signal from that fan...
I’ve been in touch with the dealer a few times, they haven’t a clue what the error code means if they come out, will we be any better offIf it's the same as a 6150R, then yes, its hydraulically driven by a pump in the the fan area..
From what I see, you might be right and it's an electric fan. If so, there's a 50A fuse in the fuse box underneath the cab steps,
Are you having your local Dealer out to it??
I’ll look for that fuse but the electric fan is spinning once you start the engine.I’ve been in touch with the dealer a few times, they haven’t a clue what the error code means if they come out, will we be any better off
If the fan is running the fuse must be ok. There's a lot of work to get to the fuse..I’ll look for that fuse but the electric fan is spinning once you start the engine.
Definitely electricCan you look and put a picture of the fan on here. I'm curious as to whether it's hydraulic or electrically driven..
Definitely electric and spinning, and you can put your hand on one side of the intercooler radiator and it’s hot and put your hand on the other side and it’s coldDefinitely electric
Little update on this....I assume there's a speed sensor in the fan unit. I'm going to a 6125R today, I don't think they have a speed sensor as they are hydraulically driven, but I'll look..
