I’ve got a viscous unit here that was removed from a 155 as suspended faulty but the new one never fixed the problem. Could post to you

But that’s the thing we are intending putting a reversible fan on it so the viscous coupling will be done away with, tractor doesn’t get hot and it feels the same and sounds the same. I’m not convinced it’s the viscous coupling tractor hasn’t got a speed sensor between the viscous coupling and the fan, either like the newer ones have

I always thought they were hydraulically driven and controlled by a solenoid valve. However, after half an hour with the Tech manual and JDParts, it could be electrical.
So, your problem is, that the ECU isn't seeing a speed signal from that fan...
Looked at my mates 6150 and yes it’s hydraulically driven or even from the water pump ,and his new 6155 the horizontal charge cooler has disappeared altogether and is somewhere else .Thank you

If it's the same as a 6150R, then yes, its hydraulically driven by a pump in the the fan area..
From what I see, you might be right and it's an electric fan. If so, there's a 50A fuse in the fuse box underneath the cab steps,
Are you having your local Dealer out to it??

I’ve been in touch with the dealer a few times, they haven’t a clue what the error code means if they come out, will we be any better off
