JD 6900 low transmission fluid pressure

Something a bit odd is happening with my 69.

After say 1/2 hr use, the low transmission pressure and stop lights come on when in gear 4. Happens in every range a-e. Drop it down to 3 and it vanishes. Nothing outwardly noticeable from the cab.

Any ideas what it might be?

TIA

Many thanks. Sounds expensive..

really wish I lived in your neck of the woods as I'm sure it's the sort of thing you could do before breakfast!

Been like it for a while- presumably no issues with just sticking to 1-3 for the meantime?

Pressure should be fine in 1-3, only issue I’ve seen is if the drum breaks up. You’d just lose 3 as well then though. The new c4 drums have modified holes and dowel pins to stop it happening again.

Ps, if/when you get it repaired, if it’s got the old style b3 plate (3rd gear) it’s worth updating it it for the newer thicker one as it’s another well known failure point. It does means replacing the center manifold though which isn’t cheap, however if your keeping it for a long time it’s worth doing.
