JD 6920 clutch playing up

Sometimes (normally under load) the clutch seems very slow to engage drive when you lift off the pedal (feels like it's slipping). occasionally it is the opposite and is very sharp. It seems to work normally when you use the F/R lever without the clutch pedal. Been doing it for about a week. I thought there would be error codes relating to the clutch potentiometer but the only one in the EPC is the code for "Faulty transmission enable function" which I don't know what it means. Any suggestions @Phil P @Tractortech and anyone else. Thanks

If it’s not been done for a while I’d start by changing the back end oil and filters, check for any contamination as well. Then get the transmission calibrated and see if that helps, probably worth getting the pressure tested while your at it. Low transmission pressure will put the calibration out as the oil changes temp!

If it’s still intermittently savage/slow and the pressure is ok it’s worth replacing the modulation valve and re calibrating, the valve can start going a bit lazy after around 7k hours.

The modulation valve called something like a “FEMA valve” ? Probably spelt wrongly but dealer done the odd one for me and definitely worked wonders

Does the error message mean anything much? 7000 hours
That message on its own isn’t worth worrying about to much, it’s usually when a direction is selected to quickly after startup and can be found in most machines.
If it was dropping out of drive then it would be worth investigating into a little bit more.
