I have a 6R on order,it has the integrated radio. We are all starting to get concerned that we will have a nice new tractor for the summer and will not have TMS available in digital quality. What ways are there to get a dab radio ideally without having to replace the JD unit.

Thanks

Connect your phone to it via bluetooth and stream the cricket via the BBC sport app?

Download the apps of the radio stations you like and stream it through the bluetooth on the tractor. You can pause live radio then so you don’t miss a good bit when you get out the cab.

I brought an AutoDAB receiver for my combine last year. This comes with a stick on arial and then transmits to the normal radio though a FM signal. I was very impressed with the reception of it, I had brought an extra external arial but haven’t needed it

Plenty of kits available on line I fitted a Dennison box .if hides nicely in back pillar and plugs in to usb .channels are displayed on the command centre screen .arial is magmount on roof . Think window ones as good

Bg junior has just found them online. He thinks I should buy 1 for his car so I can see if they work before I get a tractor one :)

I had the same problem a few years ago, LW reception was really bad. For about £90 I bought a portable digital radio made by Pure I think, had amazing reception and battery lasted 2 days. Charged up overnight. I hated it when close of play came and still had 3 hrs combining left in the day!!

In fact it was this one, £45 now

For the money you are paying for your new tractor it should have DAB on as standard like most cars do. I would ask your JD dealer to fit a DAB or you will buy a Valtra. I assume Valtras have a radio. Maybe James will let us know.

The problem with JD is if you want to run it through there smart screen you have to have there radio. That’s what I was advised when I asked so you need a box plugged in to usb.
You can fit a dab and run it with as normal. I find it easier to use radio in my 6150r not using command centre(unless tuning dab )it is a lot quicker.as the Bluetooth on them is poor anyway

I specified my fendt with speakers and no radio so I could put my own dab in. Like @whindy says it’s nice to have the controls on the screen. All boxes for Bluetooth and hands free are ticked.:)

On our last fendt, five years ago, I asked dealer to fit a dab radio. He told me to choose what I wanted and he supplied and fit it before delivery. The latest one we've bought had a dab fitted by dealer without having to ask for it. Apparently every tractor they've sold in last five years they've just put one in anyway as they are now no more money and much better quality. We found our gps interfered with old fm radios.
Clarion radio, extremely good sound quality, roof mounted aerial, and Bluetooth and USB input all standard.
