Are these likely to fail/cause a problem? Reason for asking is that had annoying squeak on 6920. Idler bearing on tensioner needs replacing and belt is on way out. Fair enough easily dealt with. However when peering closely at it, crankshaft drive pulley doesn't seem to run true. is this a problem? And is it to do with a dampener? If it is does it need fixing/replacing? Thanks @Timbo @Phil P @Tractortech (the usual suspects)

Don't expect yon damper to run as true like it's fresh out of a lathe. They all look wobbly. I think there is a service interval on them, I'll look into it later perhaps.
However, in reality they never get replaced and I only recall one that parted company.

Many thanks, this is the kind of invaluable information that you and others provide. I was just worried because looked so wobbly that might damage my 50 odd quids worth of new belt..... I think my 10 series mentioned the dampener in the manual but the 20's don't appear to.

Why? Was it expensive and was the result what you wanted?
Pulley had parted company with the rubber and slid backwards chewing the belts up, it wasn’t extortionately expensive about £400 for the pulley if I remember right then a pair of belts on top of that. Took about half a day to strip it down fit the new pulley and put it back together, think I charged him £100.

Result all working perfectly !.

How many hours has your 6920 done? I’ve changed it on my 6910 ( 12000 hrs ) but not yet on my 6810 ( 10000 hrs ). On some JD’s , I think it’s 8000 series, it’s critical and a snapped crank is the result if you don’t.
