We use RDS Artemis kits on some of our Delimbe distributors which can be "wired" into isobus systems. It all gets far too complicated for me..for about £3000 less we supply a really simple system which all it requires is for the tractor driver to be a "tractor driver" and to be able to assess the job he is doing and to be able to work out what speed he can travel at and set the application rate accordingly...
Gosh we are so far off topic now that I might have to step in as a DD moderator..!

Get a disc drill from a company that actually wants to help you succeed in Direct drilling....jd don't seem to want to! If it weren't for Simon-and will scale the 750a would possibly not be around as a dd.

At least weaving, sumo , Moore want to help

JD Drill sales will effect JD tractor sales. Don't worry about "company wanting to succeed" to be honest until people made a few aftermarket bits and adaptations even the 750 had more issues in no till. You don't have to love the company or feel empathetic or superior with the branding, its not a Fendt - its an everymans drill.

Because the design addresses a lot of the problems farmers had historically with direct drilling. So you are getting a combination of depth control by the coulter (not totally essentially but very helpful), good downpressure if needed, a seed firming wheel (which eliminates the need for a set of rolls imv) and closing the slot is easier because its separate from the depth wheel.

Its nothing to do with being die hard green but it does help solve a lot of the problems with no till. I've not seen the Sumo or Weaving in action I think they seem to have got the key bits right though - I think the Sumo would have benefitted from a firming wheel though as I really rate mine, and The Weaving looks a bit more like it follows the South American designs with offset double disc and nothing wrong with that either.

I think the traditional Moore design will leave people a little bit frustrated - great when it goes well, but that slot can open up again and in divots etc. the depth wheel doesn't follow the ground.
