JD rear lift arms playing up

JD 6220SE when outside operating the linkage buttons when hitching up to implement, it will suddenly start jerking up and down. Went all the way up this evening. Could of been serious if a implement was half attached . It's ok with the control in the cab. Just can't use the outside buttons . Any thoughts ?

Now Then..
Does this erratic movement only occur when you have button pressed?
Is it just the up button, or the down one too?
Are the steel shields still in place under the mudguard?? Is the mudguard straight?? I assume it just has the one LH switch??

It seems to do it when pressed and after letting go of button. Yes there is just the one on left side. Tractor very tidy with 7500 hours

Other than looking at the wires, or possibly trying a new switch there's little you can do. Do the arms go up faster than they should on the remote switch??
With Service Advisor or a Performance monitor, the switch inputs could be monitored and may give a clue..

It has been noticebly slow to move the arms up and down from outside for a couple of years and seems to stop moving while still holding the button. This is a new thing happening now with erratic movements .

Yes but this was moving even slower than that and just stopping . Hopefully a simple new button might do the trick if no one knows anything else it might be thank you
