Yeah I think 160hp is just too much for the 900, hence the thought of a 1050.
We had a 11090 on a 900 cutting about 2000 acres per year harvester was in good condition after the season , the following year we put a 16090 on the 900 ,it was a tough wet season and the harvester was wrecked after the year ,only got 4500 for it as a trade in at 2 years old

JF will give you more output per hp than any other trailed forager, just a pity they elected to build them out of rover biscuit tins.
That's it in a nutshell the shafts and sprockets seem to be the same size as a taarup but made of lighter steel and the shite was no heavier than a rover biscuit tin ,v bad steel all over and parts were expensive enough ,it cost me more to keep a jf going for the season than the jd selfpropelled that was bought after it

If you service them thoroughly they are not too bad if you run them hard without serious preventative maintenance then they will burn a hole in your pocket.

Best thing to do is take the gearbox off the 1050 and put it into the 1100. Gives the performance of a 1350 but with the narrow pick up.

I’ve got an old 1100 in the shed that I did just that with. 1050 gearbox, but also 1050 feed roller hinges so it opens nearly twice as wide as a standard 1100. It’s some machine, but looks a bit sorry for itself having seen no grass for a couple of years.

Anyone who’s interested make me an offer!
