I’m currently using a jf900 put I’m wondering what kind of output would I get out of a 10x as I’ve been offered 1. Would only be interested if it would increase output. Tia

Output willvery much depend on horses up front. 100 might work a 900, 130 will fly it.
130 will work the 10x. 150 be better.
Jf will pick grass if blades and shearbar set up middling. Any flywheel machine needs blades , blower paddles and flywheel set up correctly.
Foreign objects not half the worry with a JF.

But the big issue with the 10x will be likely spare parts. They must be 25 years old , and company has ceased harvester production for many years.
Jf well covered in that way by JF Centre outside Tullamore. (Both OP and myself live in Ireland). Not cheap but plentiful.

Have used both in the past, 200 gee gees and the Ten X flys, unstoppable blowing power too.

However if it lets go....... Major tears before bedtime.

How much power have you got and are you lifting 10s, 20s or 30s? If you've got a rake or better still a grouper on your mower and 200hp you'll double your output, if you're in 10ft swards with 120hp the JF will be quicker.
A Ten X doesn't need half the parts or maintenance time that a JF does and whilst a major blow up is expensive it's a lot less likely to happen.

I’ve a 6150r mapped to 180hp so should have plenty of power?? I’d like to be able pick 20ft rows
180hp will be enough power for 20fts. The TenX is designed for bigger rows and lower forward speeds, so even with the pick up on its fastest speed, lifting 10fts can be painfully slow.

in 10fts a 900 will run rings around a 10x, but not a look in at 20fts, there the 10x wins hands down.

jf can be sore on chains etc as its a simpler drive set up but anyone can sort them out, we had ours completely stiped and rebuilt in a day-broke the chopper box of the chassis. nothing I wouldn't tackle to change in the field on a 900.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
