nice little video of Jim Ploughing at the Bemish museum. viewer discretion advised as he does stamp down a furrow with his foot at one point......
And a long day it would have been. Stevens "Book of the farm" Spends many pages describing it. Start before dawn to get the horses ready, plough till dusk, resting horses as required, final visit to the stables at 8 pm to bed down!Stood and watched him many a time, I just love the way the horses work for him. It hared to believe how they did it day in day out years ago....you'd have done half a days work before you got to the field!
Used to live next door to Jim & he has all ways been a very good plough man & so was his dad many years ago , nice to see people still ploughing with horsesnice little video of Jim Ploughing at the Bemish museum. viewer discretion advised as he does stamp down a furrow with his foot at one point......
