Jo Brand and the battery acid "joke"

Yet that yoof that called Anna Sourface a traitor was arrested and detained , one rule for remainers ......
You may have a point.

Farage's LBC show last night I rang in but didn't get on air. I was going to make the points I made on here. That Jo Brand's comments were not subjective as another comedian had said, they'd crossed a line. I think it is right that the Police are involved. Especially in the light of the murdered Labour MP Jo Cox, these matters should be taken seriously and there is a real risk of a copycat attack. I am no lawyer but could a causal link be established in a court of law?

The stand out points to me are:

1. The BBC pre-recording that, showing it even without editorial guidelines being actioned and then still defending it. The best they have done 2 days later is take down the online recording I understand
2.Perversely her "joke" is more likely to strengthen the resolve of Leave voters and attract the support of waiverers and all round nice citizens
3. After the recent DDay commemorations, surely any member of any political party that is not proscribed should be allowed unfettered access anywhere in our Country to campaign without assault or intimidation. I might not agree with Farage but he has the perfect right to campaign and without minders having to take him in to places of safety everytime rent a mob turn up

She "sails close to the wind", on, have I got news for you, regularly?

Nothing wrong with sailing close to the wind as a comedian, however I think she went a bit over this time. In fact I hate these politically correct "on trend" plastic ones that that now seem to infest the TV and radio. Is it a sign of the times when politicians can say outrageous things and its brushed aside or actually adored by their followers, where as comedian would be vilified for similar comments. :scratchhead:

The tragedy is that HIGNFY not only regularly has the vile foul-mouthed Jo Brand as Chairman, both Hislop and Mertoun have turned into humourless, pompous morons who seem to have constant gut ache.

It used to be my favourite programme. Now I watch it just to see how bad it gets.
In fact, I am such a masochist, I love a freezing cold shower each morning. So I have a hot one.

Both Danny Baker & Jo Brand were totally disguting & out of order. Danny Baker slightly worse. Never liked either of them.

Some on the far right would laugth their socks off at either idea.

I found it more amusing imagining how people like you would blow a gasket over Danny Baker than being offended.

And no, a picture is no where near being burned alive with acid.

Wonder what Jo Brand would say if somebody threw battery acid over her. Oh its alright I only said it as a joke. I think not.
I don't think she would be able to say anything. It must be just about the most painful experience with dreadful long-term consequences.and it certainly isn't something to joke about in any circumstances.

I accept that an idiot or imbecile is not responsible for what they say, so as far as I am concerned, Jo Brand is innocent, but still an imbecile.

What I find totally reprehensible about this leftie brand person is that we are paying her salary or whatever in our overpriced bbc llicence fee ( tax ).It is also coming out of our already taxed income

Bit of a mis quote there. I was disgusted by both Danny Baker & Jo Brand. I'm not a fan of either.

Both are disgusting. Danny Baker strongly inferred that to have coloured genes makes you closer to a monkey. With the numbered of coloured hospital consultants that shows what an idiot Baker is.
Jo Brand also was inciting violence.
The difference is that Baker knew he was sowing a racist seed. Wheras I don't think Brand thought for one second anyone would actually throw acid at Nigel Farage. But she was of course wrong.

I'm not sure how I forgot to write in this thread, but my first reaction when I saw the thread title - and before hearing the news - was that it was a joke she had made up about her and that it was a make-up tip of hers... :banghead:

Police just stated "No further action"

Wrong call in my book

Yes.
The acid bit aside.
The whole piece is actually inciting and fermenting hatred and anything goes as far as action against those of an opposing political view. Such as what happened to Jo Cox. It's almost as if some want to even the score.
