any one use a dale with the gutler wheels? If so how do you get on, any problems?

I have a dale with the old seed hawk press wheels, but looking at changing.

Yes we have the 2 separate gutler wheels as opposed to the new design on our one.
Find they can stall in some conditions. Blockages are fairly common especially if the baling contractor has left a lot of string behind. Also found in high trash situation sometimes they would stall themselves.
On the plus side won't block due to wet mud and offer decent consolidation behind the tines.

Thanks, what would be your preferred choice of consolidator, at the moment I have the rubber seed hawk wheel, which I love but am looking at a bigger newer drill.

Dale have changed the roller for a reason. If you ask them they seem Iike they are pretty honest bunch and I would of thought will tell you why they did this. I don't know.
Imo without really putting a great deal of thought into it I would be inclined to have the new style roller they fit. Rubber wheels for me in my situation of heavy wet soils wouldn't be very effective.
