John Deere 228a

Hi
Does any one know the correct blade length for a John Deere 228a. Just bought a second hand one and replaced the blades that are on there with the same length, but they seem to be clashing. Hoping that the last owner had the wrong length blades on there.

Thanks

As a really wild idea why don’t you go to your JD dealer and buy the correct ones, you’ll get change out of £12.

Yeah discs all seem to be in the right place at 90 degrees to each other. I got the blades from the local independent parts store who cross referenced the jd part no. to get the right blade. Rather pay them than the multi branch John Deere dealer. Just wondering if anyone knows the correct length if not I’ll call up Deere on Tuesday after the bank holiday.

They'll be same as Kuhn as a JD mower is a green Kuhn

If they're too long they'll hit the next door disc at 90° so if they're hitting then they're the wrong blades

How many discs on the bed?
If it’s an odd number the first 2 discs turn the same way and the blades want to clash.
Doesn’t happen on even numbered beds.
