John Deere 3350 inhibitor switch.

Hi chaps,
I need help again.
My 3350 is refusing to start on the switch. All the usual lights come on but the exclamation mark in a triangle light is flashing. It does this when the tractor is working properly for 2 reasons; 1, range lever not in neutral engine not started. 2, engine running range lever not in neutral and handbrake on.

The second situation still happens and the first occurs wether it is in neutral or not, however it stops flashing once the engine is running.

So it seems to be an issue with the inhibitor switch related to the gear linkage.

Does this sound most likely?

What else could it be?

Where is this switch and how do I access it.

Any help much appreciated.

JD Parts with their exploded diagrams is your friend (if you're sad like me!). On my 2850 I had similar. From memory, take the cab floor inspection plate out and you'll see the switch/ wires to it. Easy enough to bypass to eliminate this as the fault. They don't usually give a lot of bother though, have you checked the main multi pin connector to the cab (just under the bonnet) for corrrosion. This was the issue on mine. Dry/ cracked joints on the circuit boards in the dash are also worth a re solder.

Usually, slapping the right hand instrument panel hard as you turn the start knob will work for a good few weeks. Likely to be a dry soldered connection in the underlying circuit board.

That's where I'm at, but I'd rather it started on the button.?
Could only find the switch for the pto light under the floor.
Switch is under the panel that is located in the centre of the cab near your feet. once open look in the gap between transmission shift cover and rockshaft housing and you should see it. pretty robust things so unlikely to be the issue. that said not impossible.
