John Deere 578 density valve

Has anybody got any experience of bale density valve issues on a JD578 baler?
doesn’t seem to matter which way I adjust it, the bale pressure always seems to be the same!!!

Have you tried taking it apart carefully to see if maybe a spring has stuck or possibly o ring broken and caused a blockage
