John Deere 6610se shuttle

I have a John Deere 6610 se, when I knock off the tractor and the shuttle is positioned in neutral. When I go to start it, it won’t start, the lift pump seems to be pumping diesel. When you leave it for five to the minutes and come back the majority of times it will start. Just wondering does anyone know where the problem is?

Would there be a switch somewhere for the shuttle because when you play around with the shuttle for a while it will start or if you cross the starter it will start. The father use to knock off the tractor when the shuttle was in forward and sometimes it wouldn’t start when you go to start it but now when you knock it off in neautral it won’t start you have to leave it for a while and then it might start

Check neutral start switch. Its under transmission. Try to disconnect and put jump wire between pins, if still can not start try to check starter relay or ignition key. If you have multimter check power to safety switch when hold to start. Should be 12V when hold to start (if no power then ignition key faulty). then can try output wire from switch. The same should be 12V when hold to start AND when FNR lever is in neutral.

Not knocking you but when describing no start it helps to say ,engine turns over but no start or engine not turning over, remember if you had asked main dealer to come out and they bring battery and starter motor but problem is dirty fuel filter which they have not got your bill will be higher............

Yeah thanks for replying, that’s why I wouldn’t ask a main dealer you couldn’t justify it especially for that age of a tractor, you would be robbed service the tractor myself
