Need a half moon spanner, I use the snap-on one, looks like this.
Thanks Phil is there only 3 nuts holding the injector onThanks for ur help greatly appreciated
Yes, you’ll also need to remove the center nut from the timing gear. A pointed bar and a swift blow of the hammer is usually enough to separate the gear from the end of the pump, don’t use a flat ended bar or you’ll mushroom the end of the shaft and damage the threads, leaving the nut on a few threads while you separate them also helps protect the shaft. Thanks Phil is there only 3 nuts holding the injector on
Thanks so much phil for ur help il give it a go in the morningYes, you’ll also need to remove the center nut from the timing gear. Take care not to drop the nut or lose the wood-rough key into the timing cover. Good luck ?

Hi Phil ur were Spot on when u said check fuel pipes in case they were perished the pipe from the fuel filter to injector pump is also I took out the filter in the pump was dirty I rang JD dealer to order will have pipe on Monday not sure if they can get small filter anymore IV washed it out for now il get the pipe on Monday see what happens thanks again for ur sound advicecould be fuel running back overnight, are the hoses perished? Does the lift pump work and supply a good stream of fuel?
Have you checked the stop solenoid is working properly? Unscrew it and put power to it (it will need to be earthed against something) and check the plunger is lifting properly.
There’s also a small gauze filter under the inlet pipe on the end of the pump, it’s a bit of a fiddle to get out and there’s a couple of small parts that sit inside it so take care when pulling it out.
stop solenoid-
The filter sits under big fitting, it’s like a plastic tube
