John Deere 7530 Fault Code 641.12

Got a Fault Code 641.12 coming up on my 7530. Usually appears 5 minutes or so after start up. does not seem to affect performance and no other codes appear.
If you turn off engine and turn on ignition again code appears even without engine running . once engine cooled down code is no longer present at startup .

Have checked the Turbo Actuator linkage seems to be free and it seems to be operating as it should

Any ideas??

Something in my head says VGT actuator related, or harness to do with it, I maybe thinking of the wrong code number.

Now Then..
ECU 000641.12 is ECU/Turbocharger Actuator Communication Error.. Look for damaged wiring (rodents??) or bad connections. Other than that, a Reman VGT!!

If it's the turbo don't bother with a vgt,just buy one off the derv doctor.

I`ve checked the connector on two cables going to Turbo and Actuator they look OK and don't seem to throw the code when working on with them,

Find it strange it seems related to engine temperature in some way?? When engine coolant gets up to 50 degrees or so the code appears and remains active until it cools down a little which seems to rule out wiring

If the actuator was faulty would it still operate when running and you can see it operate as you turn the ignition off which is normal I would have thought??

VGT actuator is cooled via the radiator coolant

Exactly- the actuator is the first thing to be starved of coolant if the level drops and may have over heated the motor...

The coolant was not low still above min when cold. Topped it up to Max and made no difference fault code appears after about 10 minutes idling. The actuator seems to be operating even when the fault code is active

Personally I'd leave it til you get a derate then tackle it. I'd probably uncouple the linkage and check the vanes are free both hot n cold

hi got jd6430 premium throwing this code up ecu 641.12....drives ok on flat but pulling anything or climbing has no power.....what is this vgt actuator...ta
