Thanks for that. These tracks have done 2800 hours will have a closer look as the tractor is on farm for us to have a play. Look good just well worn.I'd be more concerned as to which type of track it has. There have been maybe 2 or 3 different efforts at improving them by the track manufacturer. The first tracks were useless and wires break and come out from 2000 hours onwards and you get a large bill for new tracks. The newer ones are rumoured to be much better. It's all to do with the code on the side 'wall' of the track but i don't know which is which. As for track depth I'm not sure but no where near as deep as on a twin track RT.
If they are the original tracks they won't have long left. The wires go well before the tread is gone. Usually see it on the underside of the track there might be splits or patches of the rubber gone and you can see wire corroding. They are the best thing going for the soil but need deep pockets. It does feel like they might of turned a corner with the newer tracks and after the pain of a new set they'll last a decent time. The idler wheels fail (the rubber comes off) for fun as well. The ones with the original style tracks will be around 21 plate but not sure how later until they changed them. Thanks for that. YesThankyou for the advice, do you have one?
Could you please send me the track code of your tracks just to compare? Only if it’s convenient and not a pain. Thankyou again for your help. Feel the tractor is to expensive with the sate of the tracks.
You are right can start to see the wire on the under side of the track quite a few cracks appearing. And it is a 21 plate tractor thanks again for your help!If they are the original tracks they won't have long left. The wires go well before the tread is gone.
