No egt sensor on a 30 series. There are two charge air temp sensors used to manage egr and so check coolant level and if there is a restriction to coolant flow for the charge cooler.

1180 is usually a turbo. However I have also seen low coolant cause this as the turbo actuator isn't getting cooled. Check the coolant level. With engine running and header tank cap off. Put heater on when filling to help remove air locks. Make sure she is full of coolant. Like full! It will blow out what it doesn't want!!

Bit more testing and playing around all sensor changed
Egr temp re-pluged back in ( been mapped out )
Ecu readings
70..-..60 was 140 before reconnected
71 ..-..35
72..-..22
73..-..22
Can't work out why the intake and the charge air cooler temp are the same ???

Just done header tank o'rings, maybe the last owner left it to long and I
Think due to them failing its burnt out the actuator
I could be wrong and didn't want to fit a new turbo @ £1500 but it's looking that way

As its a variable vane turbo, can you manually work the turbo linkage/control rod to free it out, or at least check for smooth movement?

its not really a seizing issue id say- they usually feel ok. The linkage wears inside the turbo exhaust housing increasing slope in the arm to vanes. I dont know if building the arm back up would help but its worth a shot. Tig hard face and smooth back.

I've got my new turbo booked for next week. Gone genuine.
Had a real problem with the 3420 handler last month and I think if it wasn't standard the dealer might have just walked and left me on my own with it !!!
