John Deere Fan speed actuator

On a 2054. Got a kit to replace Knackered motor, spent ages cleaning wrong hand thread and trunnion up. Gone to put it back together and I see that the rod isn't in line with the trunnion IFYSWIM so putting unnecessary force on it? Are they really meant to be like that? @Timbo you have a 2256 as I recall is yours the same?

Thanks very much. Mines not as out of line as I thought. But it’s put back together and alters the fan speed but no through the whole range which has confused me slightly. I appreciate your photos my new elec motor set up looks similar to yours.
