I have a JD 6330 which keeps stripping fan belts , have changed iddlers and tensioners
evrything else runs freely and looks in line a/c dose not work hole in pipe, any suggestions

A/c clutch jammed ?

Have you got the belt on right?
Water pumps bearings ok?
Does the belt run straight or is it climbing over on one of the pulleys?

I dont think so as it runs freely but belt works it self off a notch

Something not sat straight then, probably the ac compressor. Which pulley does it first start moving over on?

Shouldn’t affect it, if it’s low on gas the compressor shouldn’t kick in and the outside of the pulley should just freewheel. If the center is spinning the clutch is still kicking in.

Fit extra idler pulley on l/h side of timming cover. think you can get a kit. belt jumps while cranking engine.

Another vote for extra pulley our 64 went no bother at all for about 1500 hrs then started eating belts at a rate of 1 every other day extra pulley fitted done another 1800 on the same belt

is there a place to fit another idler pulley i assume you would have a longer belt

Same belt if I remember right it's just an extra 1 holding it I don't think it goes round it

What about fitting a shorter belt from a non air con model so your missing out the air con compressor something less for the belt to go round

Is it possible to take a picture of how that pulley is attached to the tensioner

i tried to but can't really get it to come out it's just on a bit of flat bar with 2 bolts I can't remember if it was a different tensioner or just an add on to the original I'll see if I can get a better picture sometime

Are you sure the belt is routed correctly. It doesn’t look to have very good contact with the alternator?
